ABOUT US

The longer version, because I always appreciate “the story”:

When I was a kid, I remember driving around the Indiana small town of my grandmother, designing routes for our errands that only included right turns. That must be what life is about - finding the shortest path to accomplish your goals…right?!

I’ve always loathed unnecessary movement or overthought how to shave seconds off tedious tasks. At my Georgia Tech freshmen year orientation, I learned they call that Engineering – Industrial Engineering to be specific. I’ve never been able to shake this desire, frankly need, to find efficiency in every aspect of my life.

It’s no surprise that after graduating, I was lured to work at a Consulting firm that worked side-by-side with the biggest brands in the Retail industry to tackle their toughest operational problems: where to store inventory, how to pick / pack / ship product as efficiently as possible, how to create a frictionless experience for consumers. It was honestly, nothing short of a dream - solving an interesting problem each day, working alongside smart and creative teams with a passion for helping people, and making a real impact on an industry I consumed every single day.

I wouldn’t change a thing about “growing up” at Kurt Salmon. Long hours, tough problems, challenging cultures…I absolutely cherished the experiences that formed the foundation of my career. I went on to consult with Accenture’s Retail Strategy group and eventually into industry as a Sr. Director of Transformation at Walmart. Working with 15+ consumer brands, one thing never changes – my love for that feeling you get when you’re in the 11th hour and the last piece of the puzzle is within reach, if you can just work as a team to cross the finish line.

A couple years into my career, a question started to emerge - what happens if you see the efficiency, but don’t know how to get there? What happens when getting from point A to point B seems insurmountable? What if a client runs out of money and you have to walk away in the 4th quarter of the game? Even the best minds forget a requirement or two, only to realize right as you’re about to go live. How could I guarantee success at the end of a transformative journey?

Turns out, there’s not a magical library of consulting playbooks waiting to be pulled off the shelf for any problem. Sorry to dispel that illusion for anyone - it doesn’t exist. The beautiful and sometimes terribly frustrating part about Transformation is its unknown, uncertain, and imperfect.

There is: No. Right. Answer. I know, difficult to accept if you’re a recovering perfectionist / control-freak like me.

But it’s true. What do you do in the face of ambiguity with an uncharted course to success? You roll up your sleeves, and come up with a game plan with the best info you’ve got. No one can know the hurdles to come and the moves that will signal victory - but there lies the fun in playing the game.

So, if you’re looking for a trustworthy partner to navigate a transformative journey with, I just might be your person. I promise to face curveballs head on, be authentic in my perspectives, and be first and foremost a partner, working shoulder to shoulder with you always.

I’m excited to hear what problems we may solve together - let’s talk.
